As Mother’s Day is now just a couple of weeks away, it’s time that kids everywhere stopped to have a think about what their mums might like as a little present.

Unfortunately for me my mum is no longer with us, so it’s something I don’t have to worry about, but I have 2 children of my own and they always get me a little gift. I also have to get something for my husband’s mum as he doesn’t have a clue and would probably end up at the last minute getting her a bunch of flowers from the local garage!!

From a personal point of view I’m especially keen on silver rings and have quite a large collection.  It doesn’t have to cost a fortune, just be in a style that I like.   I am more than happy with a little ring from one of the High Street shops because to me it’s not about how much was spent, but the fact that they actually took the time to get me something.

Funnily enough last year they both gave me silver earrings.   For kids they do have pretty good taste in ladies jewellery, so something good must have rubbed off from me.

Unfortunately this didn’t rub off for their dad’s presents last year on Father’s Day.  They both chose men’s jewellery for him, and in all honesty neither piece was something my husband would wear.You never know, perhaps this year they might get him some tools he could use around the house – that would definitely keep him happy.  Better still would be something to do with his much loved golf clubs. I have never met anyone who is so keen on their sport.  My other half is out playing golf in all weathers, in fact the only time he doesn’t go out is when it is thunder and lightning and the golf course is shut.

Having said all that, I had better ensure he hasn’t gone and booked any golf on Mother’s Day.   The kids may stretch to getting me a present, but hubby is the one who makes sure I get a cooked breakfast, no way would I let the kids loose in the kitchen.

Anyone who has a hobby and complete a project does so with such pride and confidence. It’s very difficult not to notice. In many cases, it seems to complete the people. That’s why it’s important that hobbies are encouraged in every one.

An incredible hobby that is easy-going and great for all ages is Scrapbooking. In order to introduce it to your children, it is best to encourage them by giving them a Disney scrapbook. Filled with all their favorite characters, it’ll make this hobby that much more appealing and attractive to them.

Depending on how old they are, they may require some help from you. So ensure that you are there to offer that help when they need it. Some of the Scrapbooking tools may be dangerous for their particular age, therefore you should be prepared to supervise when they are using them or take over that particular part of the project.

Many people don’t even know how they got started into following such a hobby. Most of the times it’s just ways to keep memory is going on forever. As there are no set rules, you can do what you like. Be as creative as you can to make the book more interesting. You can find all kinds of examples in stores, online, and various other places. Try to use these various examples on your own projects and pages.

You can use all kinds of incredibly designed Scrapbooking papers to really make a statement in your albums. As you gain experience in this hobby, you’ll find that this can be one of the most rewarding hobbies you’ve ever taken part in. They’re far more interesting than any photo albums that you can put together.

Remember to put some special notations next photos and other memorabilia that will help you to remember exactly what was going on at that given moment. Not only will it help you to remember, it will also create ongoing memories.

Although you may believe that you will remember something forever, the fact is, over time our memories are forgotten. But all that can be stopped with Scrapbooking. These photos and memories will go on and on. Although many of us have turned to videos and digital pictures, nothing is more cherished and more timeless than a photograph is.

Now that Katie Price has got hitched again I can already feel a new book coming out.

To be honest I have lost track of how many books she has written. It is beyond my comprehension that she is only in her early 30’s and yet she has managed to bring out so many autobiographies. It’s strange as I always thought that your autobiography covered your whole life, not just a year or two. I bet though that she does so much in one year whereas the rest of us probably wouldn’t achieve this in our whole life.   If you search through the non fiction books section in any bookshop you will be swamped with her books.   Nowadays due to her dwindling popularity I bet a lot of her books will be found in the bargain books section.

I can’t really say if any of her books are good reads or not as she really doesn’t interest me enough to even think about buying one of her books.   I think she is one of the most annoying women around.   She always has to be in the press and it isn’t even for all the right reasons. She is one of these people that absolutely thrives on publicity, it doesn’t matter if its flattering or not.

I will say that sometimes I do feel sorry for her children. Unfortunately so many marriages breakdown in this day and age.   However if what you read in the press can be believed, her children do seem to be pushed around from one carer to the next. It must be hard for them to have any sort of normality in their lives? I bet sometimes they don’t even know if they are coming or going, or even whose house they might be sleeping in.

I didn’t realise that Katie has also written various childrens books. I just can’t see her tucking her kids into bed at night and sitting down to read them a bedtime story like most mums like to do. 

Of course, my perception of Katie could be totally wrong and for all I know she could be a brilliant wife and mum. I think that the truth of the matter is we only see what Katie wants us to see, so do any of us know the true Katie
